Five Nights At Freddy's 2 - The Movie (REVIEW)
Yes, movie that came from the hit indie-mascot horror game, Five Nights At Freddy's and now it comes for the second time continuing the first movie that sadly I missed watching it on theatre, but at least this one isn't, And you know what, I'm glad that I did.
Reminder: It's An Horror Movie
I got to anticipated with the story and lore and the animatronics to the point that I forgot that it's still an horror. Jumpscared yes, brutal deaths but somehow still graded 13+ yeah sure. But if I remind myself that it's horror, it became, not that horror anymore... Uh how Do I explain, so, basically, it's not scary when I expected it to be scary. But kinda scary? when I forgot it's main genre.
If we talk about how scary it is, yeah I got it in some scene but not that much scary to be honest. Okay Vanessa's nightmare scene gave me chill and when the Marionette came out of her box, yeah they got me there. But that's it. Nothing more came to my mind if someone asked me "which part is the scary part". Those part when the animatronics killed the humans are terrifying tho, even when they shots it in an angle that makes them a bit more subtle (gotta keep the age rating low I guess).
But you know what, I'm not even really into horrors and heck, I'm not here for the horror. Not only for nostalgia and healing my inner child, I came here for THE LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORE!
But Hey, That's Just A Theory
Alright chill, I ain't gonna talk about the whole ass lore here. I may go crazy if I fall into the bottomless pit of lore-talking. The thing I want to talk here is just, how good they 'repacking' the already existing lore from the games timeline (and books, probably). It's a fresh story for me, a long runner of the franchise here yet somehow, every dot is still connected with the game timeline.
It's not the same, but it could be the same if we stretch it enough. A lot of potential for theories here and there, some people might dislike it cuz some had enough but some maybe will enjoy it nonetheless. Any content is still a content right?
Review, Bro
Feels like I'm talking nonsense here because to be honest, my eyes were blurred with nostalgia here. It's a good movie with good productions I mean, look at the animatronics man, they are so game-accurate and the sets oh my god the restaurant looks beautiful, If it actually exist irl I might go there and living my best life with all of the attractions they got.
Some scene are beautifully created too, like the nightmare sequence, flashback at the beginning, and when Mike and Vanessa came into the OG Freddy's like the reveal of the withered, and when Mike 'plays the game'.
Chase scene is alright but, how did they find the parents' address idk supernatural thing maybe. And where did the original Freddy crews come from? did they Hide in the FNAF 1 resto location? Some parts are just kinda illogical, some are also is just, no further explanations occurred (for the next movies probably?) and it itch my brain a bit
In Conclusion
8.7/10. Haha funny number, yeah the bite awkward laugh
